In Memory of

Joseph Norvell

Born in Garrard County in the State of

Kentucky June 16^th 1793

Died at Nashville on the 7^th day of

January 1847

 

In public trust he was distinguished for

his integrity and fidelity and in

private life for those virtues

which give dignity to man.

 

As a Freemason he was honored by

his brethren for the practice of the

principles inculcated by the order

and was chosen by them to the

highest office in their gift

that of

Grand Master of the Grand Lodge

of Tennessee

which office he discharged with

honor to himself and

advantage to the

Fraternity.
